Le Grand Café opens a sequence of three solo exhibitions dedicated in turn to Nohemí Pérez, Joris Héraclite Valenzuela and Ana Vaz.
The series brings together the creative worlds of these three artists concerned with contemporary issues of cultural identity, memory, and the disorder of our perception of time and the future. Each of them interweaves and reveals these subjects, beginning with a personal lived experience of a real place: the housing estates of Saint-Nazaire for Joris Héraclite Valenzuela, the Catatumbo region of Colombia for Nohemí Pérez and the Brazilian state of Amazonas for Ana Vaz. Places that are inhabited by more than just humanity; where History and migrations hover, where sensations verging on the fantastical come to the surface.
